AWESOME episode. The fight scene in the arena was intense! And M, the nudity in this show is for the time period. Agreed, that sex sells, but Romans thought the naked body to be a beautiful work of art. And if nudity is the only thing you find “wrong” in this series, you might want to rethink your rights.

Regarding M’s comment, I can’t believe anybody would have a problem with the nudity. Didn’t you learn anything in Western Civ? The Romans were not as uptight about sex and nudity as we are today. The human body was nothing to be ashamed of.
I, for one, am thankful that Starz does not treat its audience like children who need to be protected from nudity, sex, and violence. All of that stuff was simply a fact of life back then as it’s still a fact of life now.

The problem isn’t that one should be “ashamed” of the human body. The human body is a gift from God and is quite beautiful. Since the Roman times, however, we have become enlightened to realize that such beauty can easily lead to sinful thoughts, and then actions, which can ultimately lead to the weakening and eventual dissolution of a society, e.g., Rome (not that this was the sole cause of its downfall). One can still be honest to the time period without having to flaunt its weaknesses in the face of the modern viewer.
